Tulips in full blossom

Nearly one million tulips covering a wide range of varieties decorate the Daning Lingshi Park in Shanghai Zhabei district.

The largest ever tulip show in major urban districts has attracted a large number of visitors---92,000 on the peak time on Sunday. The show opens daily from 8 am to 6 pm until March 29.

A total of 11 cities nationwide joined in holding the tulip expo that presents about 5 million tulips that were imported from Netherlands last December.

Besides tulips, the park also has several areas planted with rape flowers, violet Orychopragmus and Chinese flowering crabapple.

Covering an area of 680,000 square meters, the Daning Lingshi park is a major green land in northern part of the city. It has more than 500,000 sq m of green land as well as an artificial wetland.

There is an artificial lake with an area of 70,000 sq m with 3,000 sq m of artificial sand that is popular with children. Visitors can take tourist vans, visit fishing spots and take their children to an amusement park, while newly -weds can capture their memorable day at a wedding photo base inside the park. The road surrounding the lake is a perfect place for people to go for walks or jogs.
