Lotus is one of the most favored flowers in Chinese culture for hundreds of years. Unscathed by impurities, lotus symbolizes purity of the heart and mind as well as honor and tranquility.

Apart from the flower show, the one-month event also includes a bonsai exhibition, a poll, and photo and composition contests on the theme of the flower.
