A delegation from the UK's leading research-oriented Loughborough University visited Shanghai University (SHU) on Nov 4.

Gong Siyi, vice president of SHU, briefed the guests on the achievements made by SHU, especially the academic projects between the two parties involving a three-year undergraduate and a two-tear postgraduate study on fundamental research, international exchanges and mathematics.

Robert Allison, chancellor of Loughborough University, praised SHU’s dedication to the joint projects and hoped for further cooperation in doctoral student and professor training, as well as in scientific research focusing on social sciences, globalization and urban planning.

Loughborough University, a public research university located in the market town of Loughborough, ranks particularly highly in engineering and technology, and is noted for offering a special student experience, as students have easy access to overseas study. It is also a member of the UK's M5 universities, a union of the top five research-oriented universities in the UK.
