Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (SUIBE) was enlivened by a Christmas and New Year party organized by more than 250 students from 110 countries on Dec 15.

The party started with a remix of dances by South Korean students. It also included various performances highlighting different foreign cultures, through magic shows, tai chi and taekwondo, as well as interpretations of classic melodies from France, Vietnam and Thailand, plus traditional Russian folk dances.

Following closely was a combination of classical Chinese and modern dances, with the party reaching its peak with dance shows presented by Nerd Girls, a group with members from Moldova, Mongolia, Vietnam and Kazakhstan.

In addition to the excellent performances, the party also featured a lucky prize draw.

"SUIBE is a home away from home," said one student after the party.

The party not only showcased a range of cultures but was also a chance for students to get to know more about each other.
