A group of international students majoring in Chinese language studies at Shanghai Normal University (SHNU) attended a closing ceremony on Jan 11.

Hosted by Wu Ying, a veteran teacher from the International College of Chinese Studies at SHNU, the ceremony began with the awarding of a number of prizes, such as highly anticipated school scholarships and honorary titles, like the "excellent monitor" and "excellent student" awards.

The prize winners expressed their gratitude to SHNU for its devotion to improving their Chinese proficiency, and shared with those in attendance their experiences and feelings about living and studying in Shanghai.

They also mentioned some of their favorite memories at the university, such as an interest group featuring kung fu fan dances, which made them feel welcome in the city and the country.
