A group of nine students from the University of California-Riverside (UC Riverside) School of Business conducted a study trip to Shanghai's East China Normal University (ECNU) from Dec 12 to 14, 2016.

In a bid to examine the business environment in Asia and seek out potential commercial opportunities, the students were exposed to a variety of activities, such as attending academic lectures and making company visits.

Renowned professors from UC Riverside, ECNU and Oxford delighted in sharing opinions with the students. They also held heated discussions on the status quo and challenges of the Chinese economy, as well as consumption trends and market patterns in China.

At ECNU's science park, the students gained a general understanding of its functions and operations, as well getting to know various high-tech companies there.

Zhang Yun, manager of PsyLife, an educational assessment consulting firm based in the ECNU science park, shared with the students his experiences of starting up the business.

The students all regarded the journey to ECNU as very rewarding, and expressed hopes for additional visits to China in the future.
