The College of International Exchange at Shanghai University (SHU) opened up a teaching skills competition for postgraduates majoring in international Chinese language education on Feb 17.

In a bid to help students increase their practical experience, as well as selecting qualified candidates for a related competition to be held at Tongji University in April, the competition attracted 11 students, including one from Vietnam.

The competition consisted of delivering a class, explaining language points, and answering the judges' questions.

The students made full preparations –– from their presentation and vivid teaching styles to well-made PPTs –– they presented the judges with active images and a high level of professionalism.

Taking into account various aspects, the competition gave awards to six students, with Lei Yuqing and Chen Yingqi sharing first prize, Li Qingxi and Liu He sharing second prize, and Xu Ruiyun and Yen San from Vietnam sharing third prize.

The students appeared to enjoy the competition, and many expressed their wishes for further opportunities in the future.
