The campus of East China Normal University (ECNU) was filled with joy as the school welcomed a new group of international students on Feb 14 and 15.

From airport pickup to school registration, the students enjoyed non-stop support from a group of enthusiastic ECNU volunteers, whom helped them find their feet and settle in as quickly as possible.

The new arrivals also received special gifts from the school, such as a hand-drawn map of the school, a T-shirt printed with the school logo, and booklet full of useful tips on studying and living in Shanghai.

The students expressed their appreciation to the school and the volunteers, as well as their high hopes for the coming spring semester. "Studying at ECNU is just amazing," said Tom, a student from the UK.

The newcomers were also eager to do their bit: They donated some money and books to support the development of a primary school and the construction of a library in Yunnan province.
