A group of international students from Shanghai University (SHU) immersed themselves in Chinese culture on Feb 27, taking part in the multitude of celebrations during the Longtaitou Festival, or Dragon Head Raising Festival, in the Chongming district.

The students were enchanted by the eye-dotting ceremony – the 108-year-old Shen Guangyuan drew sparkling eyes on the auspicious dragon, extending his best wishes for longevity and prosperity.

They also set foot on Bagua, or the Eight-Diagrams, experiencing philosophical and ritual traditions of Chinese origin. The students were also eager to stage several classic dances, pushing the festival atmosphere to new heights.
