Some 80 international Confucius Institute Scholarship winners freshly enrolled at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) attended a meet-and-greet on March 10.

Lu Qinning, deputy dean of the SISU School of Chinese Studies and Exchanges, greeted the students warmly and briefed them about the university's academic developments and achievements in recent years.

Lu also encouraged the students to make rational use of their time, cherish the opportunity of studying abroad and provided them with helpful tips on studying and living in the metropolis.

A group postgraduates majoring in international Chinese language education were introduced to the new foreign students, with the expectation of collaborating on Chinese language studies in the future.

Teachers from the international student service center also addressed the students about the curriculum and scheduled activities during the new term.
