Music is an international language understood by people from every corner of the world, and overseas students from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music celebrated their musical understanding with neighboring province Zhejiang on April 21.

At the invitation of the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music the 12 students from Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, Costa Rica, Thailand and Mongolia went on a one-day campus tour.

They received a warm welcome from Vice-President Yang Jiuhua, learned about the exchange programs between the two schools, and had some nice talks with students on academic study, campus life and spare time activities.

Various shows, featuring solos, ensembles and choruses were later staged by students from both schools. Their professionalism and excellent performances created a joyous atmosphere.

The Shanghai students regarded the trip to Zhejiang as very rewarding. It was not only a good platform for opening up academic and cultural dialogues between the two schools, but also strengthened students' personal friendships and creativity and helped broaden their artistic horizons.
