Twenty two Fudan University students, all from Belt and Road countries, strengthened their bonds with China by touring Shanghai from April 15 to 20.

With the event enjoying the full support of the State Council and Shanghai municipal government, the students were treated to a variety of cultural activities, such as having lectures on the cultural background of the Belt and Road, delving into the ancient Maritime Silk Road at the China Maritime Museum, practicing martial arts and calligraphy, visiting the Oriental Pearl Tower landmark, and cruising on the Huangpu River.

At a farewell party held on April 20, the students were eager to share their feelings. Amir Gadalla from Egypt regards China as his home away from home and promised to come back frequently. Anastasia Lonova expressed her gentle love with a recital of I Have Loved You, a famous poem by the Russian poet Alexandra Pushkin. A guitar solo of Mormond Braes by Thomas Howell won prolonged applause from the audience.

The students spoke highly of the event for providing a good platform from which to learn Chinese culture, enjoy China's landscapes and make new friendships.
