The 2017 graduation ceremony for international students studying at Shanghai Polytechnic University (SSPU) got underway on June 25.

The six graduates, coming from Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Japan, and Laos received sincere congratulations from university officials, students, teachers, and their parents.

Xu Li, a teacher representative from the college of economics and management, said she was delighted at the students' progress over the years, both in academic devotion and cultural immersion.

The students expressed their gratitude to the school and teachers for their considerate care, which helped ease the strangeness of living abroad and get fruitful results in their academic focuses.

Song Baoru, a top official at SSPU, spoke highly of the students' improvements in the last four years. He also placed high hopes on them, encouraging them to put what they have learned at SSPU into better practice, and working to promote a sounder and more effective platform for mutual exchanges.

The students were then awarded graduation certificates and posed for a group photo.

The second "best dormitory" selection got underway as a sideline event. Prize winners were also granted certificates, praising their clean and tidy living environments, as well as diligent and healthy lifestyles.

SSPU initiated education programs targeted at overseas students in 2011, and has enrolled more than 270 foreigners from over 20 countries to focus on language studies, exchange programs, or master's degrees.
