The Project Go program, where 21 students from the University of Mississippi attended held a closing ceremony at Shanghai University on August 11.

During the two-month program, the group was treated to a series of classroom-based courses and excursions to Shanghai and Beijing.

The ceremony began with a video coverage looking back on some significant moments at SHU, including in-class Chinese learning and daily practice. They actively interacted with the elderly residents in the park learning their customs, and visited the mosque to experience their religious culture.

Overseas students also took field trips to Beijing, where they got to witness China's history and spirits of the Palace Museum and the Great Wall, and with the experiences from homestays and sightseeing, they gained insights into the daily lives of the locals.

To enhance communication among the youth, SHU matched 21 overseas students with Chinese language partners. During the closing ceremony all of them were awarded certificates.

Enhanced cooperation between the two universities will allow more cultural exchanges, and SHU welcomes them to return for further studies.
