A global leadership program gathering efforts from East China Normal University and Korea University drew to an end at the Shanghai-based school on Aug 25.

The program, which started on June 22, attracted 98 students from South Korea to immerse in the profound Chinese culture.

Aside from the intense and informative Chinese language courses, which helped the foreign students greatly improve their language proficiency, they also went on several excursions around the city.

For example, they travelled across Zhujiajiao town and went boating on the Caogang River, where they got a better understanding of the unique atmosphere that makes China's water towns so unique.

The students were also impressed by the various company visits, which gave them first-hand experiences of China's rapid development.

The Shanghai Supercomputer Center introduced the youngsters to China's top-ranking information-based operation and management systems, while at the Shanghai Totole Food Co, a well-known condiment maker, the foreigners delved into the company's history and its inspiring story of how Totole developed into a "Top China Brand" and a "Famous China Trademark".

The students said their trip to China had been very rewarding and they looked forward to studying here in the future.
