A ceremony to introduce foreign students to an internship program dubbed 'meet-and-greet' - an insight into Chinese business culture and customs was held at Fudan University in Shanghai on Sept 14.

In attendance were teachers, enterprise representatives and students enrolled in Fudan's Professional Chinese Business Immersion (PCI) program.

Wu Zhongwei, dean of the International Cultural Exchange School (ICES) at Fudan, extended his warm welcome and best wishes to the new students.

He assured the students that they will be treated to a more fulfilling campus life, however the program which allows them to get an insight into Chinese business culture and customs, on the other hand requires them for busier schedules, integrated language learning and working practices.

Guo Peng, a teacher at ICES, introduced the students to Fudan's development, as well as the targets, highlights and main courses of the PCI program. A short film on the living and studying experiences of PCI graduates helped the newcomers acquaint themselves with their new environment and how to adapt.

Enterprise representatives, including one from the Thai Chamber of Commerce in China, also briefed the students about their companies, internships and various working opportunities.

The PCI program has been among the top choices of overseas students to gain Chinese business insights. It not only increases the students' business knowledge on the academic level, but also offers them diverse opportunities to get hands-on experience at local and multinational companies. Students will be well equipped with language and business ability for future career development in China.
