Fudan embraces new intl students

The International Cultural Exchange School (ICES) at Fudan University held an opening ceremony on Sept 10, to welcome 40 new overseas undergraduates.

Hu Wenhua, deputy dean of ICES, extended a warm welcome to the new comers and briefed them about the school's success and achievements in cultivating undergraduates in recent years.

She encouraged the youngsters to keep frequent exchanges with Chinese students and teachers, and urged them to aspire for excellent language proficiency and cross-cultural social skills in the future.

Lu Guang, a teacher representative, inspired the students to better adapt to new school life by setting a realistic goal, timely adjusting attitudes, and making knowledge and action go hand in hand.

A student representative also introduced the new comers to some useful tips living and studying at Fudan. He urged them to attached importance to their time schedule, their curiosity and passion toward learning, and respect for others.

The ICES at Fudan University has welcomed more than 600 overseas students this new semester. The school held opening ceremonies for undergraduates, postgraduates and doctoral students respectively.
