Postgraduate students from Russia's St. Petersburg State University of Economics attended a nine-day program on international business and Chinese commercial culture at Shanghai Polytechnic University (SSPU) on Nov 30.

The program provided the 26 visiting students with a chance to immerse themselves in international economics and business, e-commerce case studies and Chinese business culture, as well as enjoy field trips to Yangshan Deep Water Port, Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone and the SSPU-based science park.

Tanya, a student representative, expressed her gratitude to SSPU and the program at the closing ceremony.

"I was impressed by Yangshan port," she said. "China's largest container terminal gave me a feeling of delight with Shanghai. I hope to visit the school and the city again."

Xie Huaqing, deputy head of SSPU, congratulated the students. Pleased to see the two schools building closer ties, he said he is looking forward to more frequent exchanges between students and teachers.

SSPU has enjoyed a sound relationship with the St. Petersburg university in recent years. Founded in 1930, its Russian partner boasts a high international rank and reputation. The school now offers complete college education to students majoring in finance and credit, accounting, analysis and auditing, labor economics, e-commerce, logistics and marketing.
