Participants attending the closing ceremony of an arts festival held in Xi'an, Shaanxi province on Dec 9 said they were enchanted by a group of "overseas idols" from Shanghai's Fudan University.

The "idols", who are members of "Lost Place", a transnational team of South Korean, Turkish and American students, successfully took the spectators' breaths away with an original dance showing their daily studying and living at Fudan.

Their performance was staged at the 2017 CICA University Students' Arts Festival, a prelude to the 2018 Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA).

The students said the warm response from audiences increased their confidence and they were glad that all their efforts and sweat had been worthwhile.

The idea of CICA was proposed by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in 1992. After over two decades of development, the forum has included 26 member countries and now works as an Asia-wide security and confidence-building framework.

The present CICA affiliated university students' arts festival attracted participants from 17 Chinese schools and more than 200 overseas students in China.
