The College of International Education at East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) launched a badminton club on Dec 18 to enrich the overseas students' campus lives.

Some 30 students from Russia, Yemen, Pakistan, Vietnam and Egypt attended the opening ceremony and were excited to put their badminton skills to test.

They compared notes on playing singles and doubles and also made friends with each other.

The badminton club is the first of its kind in ECUST targeting overseas students. The school will set up more associations to meet the daily demands of the students, encourage their active roles in after-class activities, and help them meet new friends and forge closer ties.
