A university in eastern China has strengthened cooperation with its Thai counterpart on jointly cultivating undergraduates, as the two schools recently reached an agreement on credit transfer and accumulation.

The delegation of East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) visited Chiang Mai University (CMU) from Dec 11 to 15. The latter, which has gone through over five decades' development, is now a leading university particularly exceling in medical science and engineering courses. The school is also famed for the pleasant environment provided for both domestic and foreign students.

Officials from ECUST and CMU had in-depth exchanges on how to promote the joint program at more ground levels, and also looked forward to join hands on more graduate and high-end professional programs.

The two schools also put on several road shows, with which they briefed local residents about ECUST's diverse learning programs and introduced them to the colorful living and studying experiences at ECUST.

The cooperation marks ECUST's first step set toward schools from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. The school will continue to carry out MBA programs with Romanian higher institutions.
