International students at Shanghai Polytechnic University can now have their queries answered, and their problems solved, by their fellow foreign schoolmates as the university set up a service and activity center self-run by the students on Dec 20.

The center has gained solid support from teachers and staff members at the International Student Affairs Office, carrying their wishes to promote the school's foreign services at more ground levels by improving its educational development, and promoting self-management amongst the foreign students.

The first group of student officers, who mainly come from Italy, Zimbabwe, Thailand, and China's neighboring countries of Mongolia, Laos, and Kazakhstan, will be responsible for helping students tackle daily problems and enriching their campus lives.

The student officers extended their gratitude for having the chance to gain work experience and polish their interpersonal skills.
