Fudan University in Shanghai awarded 25 overseas students on Dec 29, 2017, for their years of endeavor towards improving Chinese proficiency and getting better understanding of Chinese culture.

The award was named after Zimo, a Shanghai-based company aiming to make Chinese language available and fluent for more foreigners. Since its launch on the Fudan campus in 2016, three groups of 51 overseas students were awarded for their excellent performances.

Zhang Jiayin (Chinese name), a Ukrainian student representative, shared her memories of living and studying at Fudan. She expressed her gratitude for the help she received from her teachers and schoolmates, and also thanked Zimo for providing overseas students with such generous feedback and recognition.

Fudan teachers also extended their wishes and expectations to the students. Wang Ying, Party secretary of the International Cultural Exchange School of Fudan, invited overseas students to walk out their "comfort zone" and interact more with their Chinese schoolmates. She believed their more footprints across Shanghai will bring them better understanding of the city, the country, and the world.
