A sports delegation of France's INSEEC Business School attended a 10-day course in Shanghai University of Sport (SUS) from Jan 3 to 12.

The course was co-sponsored by INSEEC Business School and SUS's School of Economic and Management and School of International Education. The delegation had 41 members, including two master's program managers and 39 postgraduates majoring in sports marketing and commercial management.

The class consisted of special lectures, field visits, extracurricular activities and cultural experiences. The students gained an overview of the development process of China's sports industry from multiple perspectives.

Liu Dongfeng, Party secretary of SUS's School of Economics and Management, and Wu Yigang, dean of the School of International Education, delivered speeches on China's sports industry. Senior managers from the sports marketing and event management industries also shared their abundant market experience.

Apart from the lectures, the French students also visited Alisports and the Mercedes-Benz Arena to learn more about modern sports development concepts and management methods.

To enhance their understanding of China and Shanghai, the delegation toured Zhujiajiao, Huangpu River and the Bund, experiencing Shanghai's classic and modern beauty.

The French students completed the 10 tightly-scheduled days with a deeper perception of China's sports industry, sports management, sports marketing and sports culture.

INSEEC Business School was founded in 1975 in Bordeaux. It has 17 campuses in nine cities around the world, including Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Chambery, Monaco, London, Chicago, Geneva and Shanghai. INSEEC is the most famous higher business college in France cultivating business, economic and management professionals.

SUS has been involved in academic exchanges with INSEEC for over two years. The two institutions signed a memorandum of understanding in 2017, and plan to collaborate in the area of talent cultivation.

The 2018 sports delegation short-term course was the first official exchange activity after the signing of the memorandum, and laid a solid foundation for wider and deeper cooperation between the parties.
