Students at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) were wearing smiles on their faces as the fifth campus international carnival got underway on Oct 19.

Students feasted their eyes on costume and talent shows embodying 24 distinctive cultures from across the globe, while also engaging in a variety of interesting activities, such as traditional Japanese games, enjoying mouth-watering Italian dishes, and admiring exquisite Nigerian handicrafts.

The more booths they visited, the more diversified cultures they experienced. The wider areas their footsteps covered, the more "stamps" they collected on their "cultural passports", and some even earned a surprise big prize.

The event culminated with students enjoying cultural performances, with groups from Pakistan and Uzbekistan receiving awards for their enchanting efforts.
