The squad led by Kazakhstani, Zimbabwean and Laotian students from the College of International Exchange at Shanghai Polytechnic University (SSPU) took first place at the second campus shuttlecock kicking competition on Nov 28.

Though they were newbies to the sport, the international students gained hand-by-hand instructions from teachers and tried their best at the competition.

Koishybayev Daniyar, a fourth-year student from Kazakhstan, said it was his first time to compete on behalf of the College of International Exchange. He felt honored and delighted to engage in the activities and hoped to attend more in the future.

The College of International Exchange regarded the competition as a great opportunity to motivate overseas students, developing their interests and potential in cultural and sports activities and engaging them into the SSPU family.
