Summer Chinese Language Program (Shanghai International Studies University)

Mainly Chinese courses including Listening Comprehension, Conversation and Reading.

20 teaching hours per week, 4 teaching sessions each morning (8:30-11:50), Monday through Friday. Also available are elective courses such as Chinese Economy and Culture, Chinese Calligraphy, Taijiquan (shadow boxing) and Chinese Wushu. The minimum enrollment for each course is 20 students. These courses are taught in the afternoon.

Activities

Inner city tours are offered once a week (scenic spots, museums, acrobatics etc.)

Weekend tours are available at students’ own expense.

The summer program falls into three sessions between July 7 and August 29, 2014.

The exact opening date is specified in the Acceptance Letter.

Application period

By completing all application procedures and paying the application fee before 20th May 2014, the applicant can get a JW202 form and Acceptance Letter from us. ② After 20th May 2014, the applicant can only get an Acceptance Letter by fax or email and therefore needs to apply for a visa to China by himself.

Group applications are welcomed and the courses and schedules may be varied according to the group’s requirements. Please contact the Office of International Student Affairs if you have any special requests.
