Profile

Founded in 1905, Fudan is one of China’s oldest, most selective universities and a member of the C9 League , Universitas 21 and Association of Pacific Rim Universities.

It has four campuses, at Handan, Fenglin, Zhangjiang, and Jiangwan, with 17 schools and 69 departments. These offer 70 bachelor's degree programs and 229 master’s degree programs in 35 disciplines. The school has more than 30,000 full-time students, 3,300 of them international students.

Fudan has more than 2,400 faculty members, with 35 members of China’s Academy of Sciences and Academy of Engineering, 58 special professors and 34 lecture professors of Cheungkong Scholars Program.

It also has 10 teaching hospitals, for example, Zhongshan Hospital and Huashan Hospital that integrate medical care, education, and research, with state-of-the-art equipment and technology, and more than 900 highly qualified staff members who provide a good environment for education.

Requirements

Entry requirements of undergraduate programs:

Over 18 years old , high school graduate or above, qualified for university entrance, medically sound foreigners.

Emigrants from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan applying as international students must have obtained their current foreign citizenship before April 30, 2010. In addition, the applicant must have lived abroad for at least 2 years during the period between April 30, 2010 and April 30, 2014.

Certificate of HSK Level 5 (210 points in total or above, the score of each subject should be 70 points or above) 

Students who apply for Chinese Language (for foreigners) should submit certificate of HSK Level 5 (180 points in total or above, the score of each subject should be 60 points or above).

Entry requirements of postgraduate programs

Applicants should be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport, be in good health, have attained a degree (Bachelor’s degree for Master applicants, Master’s degree for Doctoral applicants) and meet the related language requirements.

Language Requirements

If you want to study at Fudan University, you must be able to show that your Chinese (for Chinese-taught programs) or English (for English-taught programs) is good enough for you to successfully complete your course. 

For Chinese-taught programs: a copy of HSK Certificate (2 years of Validity) or other Chinese-level documents;

If you have successfully complete a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree taught in Chinese in China, you will not normally need to provide a copy of the HSK certificate. For English-taught programs: applicants from non-English speaking countries need provide this only.
