Profile

Shanghai’s University of Political Science and Law was established in 1984, with the approval of the Shanghai Municipal Government, it became an independent college.

The school is situated in the Sheshan Mountain scenic area, and the garden-like campus is a prominent feature.

Closely connected with the political and legal community, the school focuses its teaching and researches closely with socio-economic development and established an academic system concentrating on legal studies, which are supported by political science, economics, sociology, management science and language and literature studies.

The university offers three master’s degree programs, 25 undergraduate programs and 7 higher vocational degree programs. It has 15 academic departments, including a Department of Law, Economics and Management, Social Science, Foreign Languages, Chinese, Journalism, Education and a Vocational Training Center.

There are over 9,000 full-time students in the university, which has also invited over 100 well-known specialists and scholars to serve as honorary professors and guest professors.

The university has also established cooperation with institutions or universities in the US, France, and Japan. There are currently16 registered international students.
