Profile

 
The university was established in 1956 as an academic college for Traditional Chinese Medicine. It has more than 9,000 students and 600 experts including two academicians from the Chinese Academy of Science and Chinese Academy of Engineering.
It contains 20 colleges or departments, five directly affiliated hospitals, including three top-notch ones.
The school has developed a high-level cooperation network on education and scientific research with overseas institutions, including the UK, US, France, Germany, Japan and Thailand.
The school has one International Education College for overseas students. It has been offering international acupuncture training over the past 30 years in English, Japanese, French and Korean.
In addition, over 1,500 short-term international students from 42 countries or regions study here each year. The University is leading among universities in Shanghai in terms of numbers of international students.
