Shanghai University of International Business and Economics

Profile

Founded in 1960, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (formerly Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade) is the only commercial university in East China with distinctive features and prominent professional advantages.

The school has 35 undergraduate programs and 28 postgraduate programs, and offers training for various professional certificates.

More than 10,000 students now study at SUIBE, including more than 1,000 full-time graduate students and more than 2,000 international students.

The school has two campuses, of which the Gubei Campus boasts especially convenient transportation as it is only 10 minutes’ drive from Hongqiao Airport and is close to two metro lines.

SUIBE has long attached great importance to international education. It provides international students with undergraduate and postgraduate education, multi-level language training, business project training, and cultural tourism projects. Every year, more than 2,000 international students from over 100 countries continue their education at SUIBE. The school also offers international students business courses entirely in English.

According to a 2008 joint survey conducted by the US consulting companies Michael, Gallup and Zero Point, the employment rate of SUIBE graduates ranks first among China's 2,113 state-owned colleges and universities.
