A delegation of 13 "youth ambassadors" from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) started a four-week language learning and cultural immersion program at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) on July 23.

The program, since its initiation by the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court in 2012, has given many UAE college students authentic overseas experiences. China was included in the program in 2013.

Ge Qichao, deputy dean of the School of Chinese Studies and Exchange at SISU, said he looked forward to the students making unforgettable memories on the program and taking advantage of their own knowledge and talent in order to further improve relations between the two countries.

The students said they cherished the opportunity to deepen their understanding of China and would make concerted efforts to deepen China-UAE ties.
